Oh, was this book ever a pain to write! After starting on the project in the summer of 2002 it took little time before I noticed the hours flying around the clock each and every day. On most days I averaged 16 to 20 hours writing, researching, compiling photos, error checking and so on. This went on for months with practically no days off. Even on vacations I took my laptop so I could squeeze in a little work here and there. My kids, Eric (after whom the book is named) and Max, also got the short end of the stick. But THANK GOD now the book is finally done and I can return to a more normal schedule.

We live in the southern outskirts of Seattle and my "day job" is running Dirty Old Coins. I also maintain a personal website rasiel.com the maintenance of which has been (not surprisingly) put on hold. Upcoming projects include expanding the product line of DOC and, yes, work on the followup to ERIC has already begun.
